ATLANTA – Are you ready, Houston? The textile industry is ready for you.

 

Next week, industry professionals from around the world will converge on the “Space City” for the Techtextil North America (TTNA) trade show, organized by Messe Frankfurt. More than 150 exhibitors from 16 countries representing 100-plus product categories will be on hand for TTNA, to run June 2-4 at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

 

TTNA will be co-located with JEC Americas, following the successful premiere co-located shows in Atlanta last year. The collaboration will create the largest technical textiles, nonwovens, geosynthetics and composites trade show in the United States this year.

Houston, the top city for U.S. job creation in 2013, is home to a large cluster of oil and gas, aerospace and automotive companies and suppliers. It is considered the world energy capital, with one-fourth of the U.S. oil and gas firms based there.

 

Visitors can expect to see leading technical textile and nonwoven companies from around the world showcasing the latest products and technological advancements in textiles, nonwovens and composite materials.

 

Techtextil North America will have four special feature areas: German Pavilion, World-Class Symposium, Graduate Student Poster Program and the Job Center.

 

German Pavilion

 

The German Pavilion is a must-see feature area on the show floor as more than 15 German companies will be represented. Below is a sampling of German Pavilion exhibitors you can expect to see:

DST Technical Coatings GmbH: DST is specialized in coating, laminating and impregnating of textile tailor-made solutions for international customers. DST serves fireproof and fire-retardant products made of silicone, organic and inorganic compounds, aluminum and stainless steel foils, double mirror and fluoropolymer films for aviation, automotive, marine, constructive and industrial use to protect and save.

 

ECKART GmbH: Smart textiles from optical effects to functionality, ECKART offers a wide variety of pigments for thrilling visual effects for automotive, home appliance and architectural applications.

 

IBENA Technische Textilien GmbH: IBENA’s core business is home and industrial textiles. A variety of different industries and applications are being served: protection and safety, car, filtration, scenery, digital printing, and laundry are some examples. Tailor-made solutions with unique properties is one of its trademarks.

 

Maschinenfabrik Herbert Meyer GmbH: M/S MEYER builds machines, laminating and coating machines, as well as thermoforming and molding lines. Its specialty is to bond, laminate, calibrate and mold different materials with heat and pressure.

 

Rex Industrie-Produkte, Graf von Rex GmbH: Rex Industrie-Produkte, Graf von Rex GmbH produces a great variety of high technological, innovative and temperature-resistant materials for the areas of heat protection, fire protection, as well as heat, cold and sound insulation. Its range comprises yarns, tapes, felts, mats, woven fabrics as well as insulation mats and jackets true to size according to drawings.

 

World Class Symposium

 

Techtextil North America is hosting a 10-session symposium presented by industry experts throughout the technical textile and nonwovens industry. Session topics include: New Fiber Technologies (Basic and Advanced), Medical, Protective, Smart Textiles, Aerospace, Tensile Structures, Nonwoven Advancements, Raw Materials & Sustainability and the Graduate Student Poster Program.

 

More than 30 industry experts from around the world are coming together to present their innovative technologies.

The Graduate Student Poster Program/Job Center

 

The second annual Graduate Student Poster Program will feature current graduate students to present their research to industry professionals on the show floor. The top five posters chosen from industry judges will be presented during the symposium on June 4.

 

The Job Center is located on the show floor with the Poster Program. Visitors have the ability to explore through the current job opportunities available from current exhibitors on the show floor.
