“We are also proud to say that we’ve also developed a parts and service department that enables us to provide our customers with complete maintenance and technical support right here in Greer,” he said.

The company has a direct line to Genkinger-HUBTEX engineering and expert technical support, an extensive parts inventory and weekly parts shipments from Europe, Heinis said.

 

“We have adjusted to market conditions with innovative products and services,” Heinis said, in explaining how his company has adapted to remain competitive. He added that he is expecting a slight improvement for Genkinger-HUBTEX this year compared to last.

 

U.S. customers have done a yeoman’s job of meeting tough challenges in recent years, but that more hurdles lie ahead.

 

“It will not get easier, but most of them are prepared for whatever the challenge," Heinis said. "Also, I strongly believe in the U.S. as a manufacturing country. We must do more to improve this situation and continue to lobby for federal and state support for ‘blue collar’ development. We can and must push ‘made in the U.S.’ even more.”

The company was represented in the U.S. from the 1960s until 1981, when it opened its own subsidiary here. And it quickly established a foothold in the market, according to Markus Heinis, president. Since then, Genkinger-HUBTEX has concentrated on defining and establishing its niche as a premier supplier and maintainer of handling equipment and systems for weaving and knitting mills, he added.
