NEW YORK – The Sunbrella Icon Collection, designed and produced by Glen Raven Custom Fabrics, was named a Best of Year 2014 Winner for the Textiles: Outdoor category by Interior Design magazine during an annual awards ceremony in New York City. The collection also was named a finalist in the New Upholstery Surface category.

The Icon Collection is based on iconic patterns and colors from Glen Raven’s rich design history of the 1960s and 1970s. From vintage stripes to solid plain weaves, muted mid-century tones to vibrant pops of color, the collection represents a unique heritage of timeless design that translates well for today’s indoor and outdoor furniture.

“The retro look of this collection definitely is trending right now and speaks to the overall popularity of Mid-century modern décor that has been growing over the last few years,” said Greg Voorhis, design director for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics. “The Icon Collection has enjoyed a great reception from the furniture industry this year with interest from a variety of customers who feel that it aligns with their offerings,”

The Interior Design 9th Annual Best of Year Awards ceremony was held on December 4 at the IAC Building, which was designed by Frank Gehry. Interior Design hosts Cindy Allen, editor in chief, and Mark Strauss, president and publisher, announced the winners to an audience of more than 950 people attending the event. This year’s Best of Year Awards received 2,000 submissions and more than 60,000 votes.
