Serafin Group acquires Hahl-Pedex Group

MUNICH, Germany – With retroactive effect from January 1, 2015, the Serafin Group announced that it has acquired the filaments producer Hahl-Pedex Group.
The Serafin Group is a diversified group of companies whose philosophy is based on more than 150 years of entrepreneurial tradition of the Haindl family. Following the principle of “Responsibility derived from tradition,” Serafin values long-term partnerships between shareholders, employees and customers.
The Serafin Group is active in the technical textiles segment through its subsidiary Perlon Nextrusion Monofil GmbH. Through combined expertise in the areas of monofilaments, synthetic brush filaments, abrasive filaments and dental/personal care filaments, innovative products can be supplied to customers all over the world.
The customer will in future be cared for by a group to be formed, with as core competence center acting sites in Germany, in Bobingen (PET), Munderkingen (abrasive and synthetic brush filaments), Dormagen (PA) and Wald-Michelbach (dental filaments), as well as sites in Lexington, S.C.; Sejong-Si, South Korea; and in China, starting in 2016.
Customers can be assured that they will receive the same quality of service as in the past, with even more specialized technical expertise.
In the future, the technical textiles segment will employ more than 660 people around the world and generate a turnover of over 130 million euros. The production capacity is more than 20,000 tons and comprises nearly all melt spinnable polymers in the range.
Starting from January 1, 2016, the CEO of the Group for Technical Textiles will be Florian Kisling, current CEO of the Hahl-Pedex Group. Christlorenz Bundi, currently CEO of Perlon Nextrusion Monofil GmbH, is joining the advisory board.
