Muratec had a Murata Vortex Spinner (MVS) 16-spindle 870 machine running at the show. Two different products were running on this machine with Polymaster. One was 100 percent polyester, NE count 10/1 running 450m/min and the second was 65 percent polyester, 35 percent viscose, NE count 40/1 running 500m/min.
It also had two winders running: It’s FPRO winder, link coner type with 12 spindles (of which four were magazine type); and its QPRO, a bobbin tray type with 20 spindles. These winders were running 100 percent cotton, NE count 50/1, wool, spandex, etc.
Also on display was its new MSS (Murata Smart System). This is an interactive system run by your smart device to the machinery.
“This is where in the future you will be able to see your maintenance issues, order parts, etc. right from a smart device,” Butt said. “This interaction panel had a huge interest in our booth.”
Muratec also featured a complete wall highlighting its 80-year history, with photos from various years since 1935 showing machinery changes and its evolving development.

MILAN – Murata Machinery Ltd. (Muratec) marked its 80th anniversary during ITMA with wall displays and a celebration with customers and friends in downtown Milan.
The Japan-based company exhibited its latest automatic winder and the VORTEX spinning machine, along with other advancements.
A representative of the company’s U.S.-based arm, Murata of America, Charlotte, N.C., called the show an astounding event.
“ITMA 2015 event turned out to be an enormous success for us,” said Chuck Butts, technical sales/engineer. “It seems that visitors were top people and decision makers for their companies. We were overrun at times in our booth with visitors, especially the first six days of the show. At our booth we had visitors from – in numerical order – India, Europe, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the United States, Brazil, Spain and others, as well. It was our best exhibition yet as far as visitors, contracts and machinery sold.”
