MILAN – Harrell Ligon, president of 53-year-old Lang Ligon & Co. of Greenville, S.C., predicted this would be the best ITMA in recent years. And now, after the fact, he stands by his comments made to eTC in September.
“(ITMA provided) overall positive results, including what I heard from other exhibitors,” said Ligon, who has attended 12 ITMAs dating back to 1971 in Paris. “The quality of visitors was good. “The fact that many visitors wanted to move forward with trials means they came to ITMA looking for new things and solutions to problems.”
For the Western Hemisphere, Lang Ligon & Co. represents a number of family-owned European companies who exhibited at the show, so Ligon spent time in each of their booths.
Among them:
-
LGL Electronics of Italy, a supplier of yarn feeders for weaving and knitting machines;
-
Ferber of Italy for material-handling equipment;
-
Ergoton of Italy for precision weaving let-offs and take-ups; and
-
Comsat of Spain for warpers.

Show lives up to Ligon’s expectations
This was Lang Ligon & Co.’s first ITMA as a representative of Comsat of Spain, so Ligon said he was particularly excited to share information about the company’s sectional and direct warpers, he said.
“Visitors to Comsat were able to see how well-built and yet simple these warpers are,” Ligon said.
Guests in the LGL booth saw all the unique braking systems, all in one place, that LGL offers for weaving and knitting, he added.
“It was great to see so many existing customers and to show them latest versions of the equipment they are now using,” he said.
