GASTONIA, N.C. – James Franklin Miller, retired executive vice president of Manufacturing with R.L. Stowe Mills in Belmont, N.C., died November 12, 2015. He was 89.
He graduated from N.C. State University (State College) with a degree in textiles in 1948. Before graduating, he served in the Army/Air Force during World War II. Upon graduation, he accepted a position with Springs Industries in Kershaw, S.C.
In 1951 he moved his family to Belmont, N.C., to work for Lineberger Mills.
