COLUMBIA, S.C. – Seven years ago, the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance (SCMA) established its Defender of Manufacturing Award to recognize those leaders who have gone the extra mile in their support of South Carolina manufacturing. In 2012 the award was renamed the Roger Milliken Defender of Manufacturing Award.
The 2014 Roger Milliken Defender of Manufacturing Dinner will take place on December 11 at The Marriott in Spartanburg, S.C. You are inviting you to partner with South Carolina’s manufacturers to celebrate honorees and their impressive records of service to this essential part of our economy. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
The 2014 Roger Milliken Defender of Manufacturing Award recipients are Mr. Harris Deloach, executive chairman of Sonoco, and Catherine Templeton, director of South Carolina’s Dept. of Health & Environmental Control (DHEC).
For more than a century, the SCMA has worked as a proactive voice for manufacturing, both in government and in the communities where its members’ facilities are located. It has aggressively stood for pro-manufacturing policies and has worked hard to educate public policymakers about the impact our operations have on South Carolina’s economy.
Individual Registration is $100 for SCMA members and $140 for non-member manufacturers.
