ATLANTA – Techtextil North America has chosen five new Advisory Council members to aid in the development of the 2017 Symposium.
The show heads north to McCormick Place, Lakeside Center in Chicago, where the technical textile industry will gather together.
Advisory Council members are:

Jess Jur, Ph.D., assistant professor, Textile Engineering, Chemistry & Science at N.C.State University;

Sam Buff, director, Textile Technology Center at Gaston College;

Genevieve Dion, associate professor, Design Department at Westphal College of Media Arts and Design Founder, Shima Seiki Haute Tech Lab at ExCITe director, Center for Functional Fabrics at Drexel University;

Dr. Sundaresan Jayaraman, Kolon Professor, School of Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology; and

Gordon Gillerman*, director, Standards Coordination Office, National Institute of Standards and Technology.

The highly acclaimed technical textile conference – which is held concurrently with Techtextil North America’s trade show floor, brings speakers from a variety of backgrounds and industries to divulge new advancements in the marketplace.
Techtextil North America Symposium session topics to include: smart textiles in the connected car ecosystem; optimizing the design and fabrication of functional fabrics; smart textile product design; the technical textile industry talent challenge; and two-part session standards and certification – trade facilitators and from lifestyle equipment to medical devices – standards and regulatory expectations.
During the three days, visitors to Techtextil North America will experience networking with 150-plus exhibitors on the show floor to hearing about the latest trends in textiles during the symposium.

The event is co-located on one show floor together with The Future of Composites in Construction, powered by JEC Group. Connection of these two dynamic shows provide visitors with a vast array of products and solutions from areas in technical textiles and composites.
