LOS ANGELES – Tukatech, Inc., one of the garment and apparel industry's leading provider of fashion design software and technology solutions, has appointed Chris Walia as vice president of Sales and Marketing.

Walia holds an MBA from Loyola Marymount University with an emphasis in marketing and informational technology. He has worked in the fashion industry for nearly 10 years focusing on apparel businesses and manufacturers of all sizes, and implementing the appropriate business processes, software applications and other solutions to grow their business. Based here, he will be responsible for all aspects of sales and marketing throughout the United States.

“For the last 22 years, we have never had a sales department or a sales staff,” said Ram Sareen, founder and CEO, Tukatech, Inc. “Our focus was always to build a great customer and reference base. With over 17,000 systems installed in over 41 countries, with greatest references, we decided to move forward with a formal sales department. Our search for a competent person who understands technology, it’s benefits and who has the ability to help customers grow their businesses was the primary criteria for selecting Chris Walia.

“He is a wonderful addition to the Tukatech team, with an extensive understanding of the importance of technology in the apparel industry,” he added. “His experience of combining technology with the fashion business, as well as the warm relations he has made is vital to the success of growing and moving Tukatech forward.”

Said Walia: “Tukatech’s approach is very different from other software companies. The technical staff is focused on providing appropriate solutions rather than making a sale. This is a great fit for myself as I believe in building long-term relationships and offering the best solutions to our customers – which Tukatech has proven worldwide.”
