NCSU's College of Textiles hosts Textile Bowl pre-game festivities

RALEIGH, N.C. – On Halloween, North Carolina State University hosted the 34th annual Textile Bowl here between the Wolfpack and the Clemson University Tigers.

The rivalry's name is derived from the fact that N.C. State and Clemson had two of the largest university-level textile schools in the world through most of the history of the game, although Clemson has since rolled its textile program into its Department of Materials Science and Engineering. The textile industry has played an important role in the economic

development of North Carolina and South Carolina.

The College of Textiles hosted alumni and Clemson friends for an event that included speakers, drawings, a pep rally and lunch.

During the game, a commercial touting the College of Textiles aired on the Jumbotron.

The undefeated Tigers defeated the Wolfpack 56-41 in the game.
