The American Flock Association held its 32nd Annual Meeting on October 23 in Novi, Mich.
Association members from the USA, Mexico and Canada gathered to hear presentations related to the flock industry. John Anton of Bruel & Kjaer explained the value of flock in reducing NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) – an important issue in the modern automobile.
Jason Hulbert of Nyatex, explained the complex issues of designing adhesives for object flocking automotive parts. Mathias Reichenbacher, Global Flock de Mexico, took folks through the process of flocking a molded automotive pillar and showed how from one molded part two end products could be produced.
And finally, Lloyd Wood of the National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO) brought the group up to date on trade issues coming out of Washington.
The next day, the association displayed the latest in flock technology for the automotive industry at the first annual, three-day Automotive Interiors Expo. Under the same roof was the Automotive Testing Expo and the Automotive Engine Expo. Thousands of attendees from around the world explored the many booths.
