Saurer appoints Folini CEO of Schlafhorst and Zinser

WATTWIL, Switzerland – The Saurer Group announced changes to the management team of its largest business unit.

 

The company announced that Dr. Martin Folini will take over responsibilities as CEO of Schlafhorst and Zinser, effective November 1. According to Saurer, these two brands are the market and innovation leaders for roving and ring spinning, rotor spinning and winding worldwide 2,000 worldwide employees. Jan Röttgering will take over the position of general manager of Rotor Spinning within the business unit, allowing a higher focus on individual product lines.

 

Folini has a long career in the textile machinery and high-precision machinery industry. He graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich with a PhD. For more than 15 years he worked in the textile industry for the Rieter Group, first as head of Manufacturing and Procurement and then as CEO of Spun Yarn Systems. Since 2009, he successfully led the Pfiffner Group of Switzerland, a supplier of automatic, high-precision industrial machines, as CEO.
