GREENSBORO, N.C. – Unifi, Inc., the makers of REPREVE® and the creators of the #TurnItGreen initiative, collaborated with Feld Entertainment to help turn Marvel Universe LIVE! green at the Greensboro Coliseum October 9-12.

REPREVE helped Marvel Universe LIVE! recycle more than 10,000 plastic bottles into concourse signage and cast and crew apparel.

“Marvel Universe LIVE! is a great platform to help spread the word about the power of recycling to our next generation,” said Feld Entertainment Executive Vice President and Marvel Universe LIVE! Producer Juliette Feld. “We are excited to join the #TurnItGreen campaign with our biggest show to date in an effort to show our commitment to sustainability.”

Made by Unifi, a Greensboro, N.C.-based company, REPREVE is a fiber made from recycled materials, including plastic bottles. The #TurnItGreen initiative helps raise awareness in utilizing REPREVE-based fibers in place of non-recycled fibers in many products ranging from jackets, t-shirts, hats, pants and banners. Through the help of brands like Beija Flor, Haggar, Patagonia, Swiftwick, Dri-Release and local printing company, Graphic Visual Solutions, REPREVE supplied Marvel Universe LIVE! with pants, jackets, socks, base layer t-shirts for the cast and crew, as well as banners. The REPREVE-based concourse banners are designed to direct audiences where they can recycle within the venue.

“Our ultimate goal in marketing REPREVE has always been to increase recycling awareness and impact recycling education,” said Roger Berrier, president and chief operating officer of Unifi. “By working with Marvel Universe LIVE!, we aim to encourage families to discuss the importance of recycling and show children the cool stuff their recycled bottles can create.”
