SAINT-GEORGES, Quebec – Victor Group announced it recently completed a comprehensive third-party certification project based on the new Facts sustainability certification program for its commercial fabrics using patented Crypton® performance technology.

To achieve Facts certification, products must meet the rigorous, multi-attribute requirements of the NSF/ANSI 336 standard. Facts, a new mark, is owned by ACT, the Association for Contract Textiles, and applies to contract fabrics used in the office, hospitality, healthcare, education, government and institutional market segments.

Victor Group's Crypton Fabrics feature stain, moisture and odor resistance, as well as anti-microbial properties. These fabrics provide a patented, integrated moisture barrier that will not break down. For the assessment and certification of their products and processes, Victor Group chose to work with SCS Global Services, a leader in providing third-party environmental and sustainable certification, auditing, testing and standards development.

SCS examined the sustainability attributes related to the composition of Victor Group's Crypton products, as well as their manufacturing processes. This comprehensive project included the assessment of the following eight sustainability attributes: Fiber Sourcing, Safety of Materials, Water Conservation, Water Quality, Energy, Air Quality, Recycling Practices and Social Accountability.

The impact of this change is immediate and important. Victor Group's Crypton textiles are the only fabrics to offer this certification for certified sustainable, high-performance textile to the contract market for seating and panel applications.

Other certifications

In addition to Crypton Fabrics, Victor Group has also had a wide variety of textiles certified by SCS. Victor Group offers the Eco Intelligence® family of products, which include products that are antimony-free, contain post-consumer recycled and post-industrial recycled content polyesters, and are Facts certified. New to Victor Group is Eco Intelligent® Wool, which is also certified. All products certified so far have achieved either a Gold or a Silver Facts rating.

Victor Group offers these fabrics as proprietary or standard open line.  Victor Group serves the United States and Canadian markets.

"Victor Group has been an active supporter of this initiative from the beginning, and we are excited to be able to add products featuring Crypton to our growing list of Facts certified products available for the commercial interiors market," said Alain Duval, president and CEO of Victor Group. "Victor Group is passionate about offering high-performance, sustainable fabrics that are first to be certified."

Victor Group has a long history of sustainable practices dating back to the company's beginnings when they recycled wool scraps. A third generation family-owned business, today Victor Group offers a wide range of sustainable textiles for the commercial interiors market.
