VIENNA – Friedrich Weninger, chief operating officer of Lenzing AG, said he will not extend his management board contract, which will expire at the end of the year.

Weninger, who has worked for the company for more than 25 years and recently managed the company’s global production facilities with more than 6,000 employees, said for personal reasons that he would not seek a contract extension as a member of the management board. However, he will continue to serve as a consultant for the Lenzing Group in the coming years and put his wealth of experience at the disposal of the company.

“On behalf of the entire company, we would like to thank Friedrich Weninger for his decades of committed work and his extraordinary achievements as an employee and as a management board member of the company,” said Michael Junghans, chairman of the supervisory board of Lenzing AG. ”Recently the company profited from his experience and expertise as chief operating officer, especially with respect to the successful restructuring of the group as well as the planning and successful startup of the new TENCEL® plant in Lenzing. We are pleased that Friedrich Weninger will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity.”
