CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Dixie Group, Inc. announced that it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Burtco Enterprises, Inc., a provider of Tapistron CYP (computerized yarn placement) soft floorcovering and other related carpet products serving the hospitality marketplace.

 

The Dixie Group said it is hiring substantially all 50 employees of Burtco, including its operations, sales and marketing staffs, and will continue to operate its tufting facility in Chickamauga, Ga. The operations will continue to be led by Elizabeth Moore, previously CEO of Burtco, whose father founded the company in 1979.

 

The Dixie Group is a marketer and manufacturer of carpet and rugs to higher-end residential and commercial customers through the Fabrica International, Masland Carpets, Dixie Home, Masland Contract and Avant brands.

 

Burtco manufactures wool and solution-dyed CYP products used in public spaces and hotel guest rooms around the world. In addition, it produces multi-level cut and loop, cut pile, enhanced loop, Infinity and graphic carpets.
