RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Attend AATCC’s Introduction to Textile Testing Workshop on November 16-17 and learn AATCC and ASTM textile testing methods for better testing and approval decisions, and more accurate, reproducible results.
If you are responsible for product evaluation, specifications and quality control for apparel and textile materials, this workshop is a must for you.
Attendees will learn how to properly perform and interpret test results for approximately 20 AATCC colorfastness and physical properties test methods and evaluation procedures. Colorfastness tests to be addressed include crocking, light, washing, and perspiration.
Tests for evaluating physical properties include dimensional change (home laundering and accelerated methods), skewness, soil release, water repellency and resistance, and appearance retention. AATCC staff will discuss and demonstrate these procedures and registrants will be involved in hands-on participation.
Sessions will be conducted on basic color theory and measurement. Participants will be shown how to use the AATCC Gray Scales for Staining and Color Change, the AATCC Chromatic Transference Scale and Xenon Reference Fabric.
ASTM methods, including D3512 Standard Test Method for Pilling Resistance and Other Related Surface Changes of Textile Fabrics: Random Tumble Pilling Tester; D4966 Standard Test Method for Abrasion Resistance of Textile Fabrics (Martindale Abrasion Tester Method); and D4970 Standard Test Method for Pilling Resistance and Other Related Surface Changes of Textile Fabrics: Martindale Tester, will also be discussed and demonstrated.
AATCC individual and corporate members registering on or before November 1 pay $705 ($1,049 for nonmembers), which will include luncheons, breaks and a copy of the AATCC Technical Manual. After November 1, the registration fee increases to $755 for AATCC members ($1,099 for nonmembers).
Refunds will be honored if cancellations are received on or before November 1. A $75 cancellation fee will be charged. No refunds will be given after November 1.
Attendance is limited so early registration is encouraged. The workshop will be held at the AATCC headquarters here.
