LEXINGTON, N.C. — Shop.Dine.Design., a furnishings industry fundraising event to benefit The Common Thread For The Cure Foundation, will take place in Waco, Texas on Tuesday, September 26.

While the primary goal of the Shop.Dine.Design. event is to raise money for The Common Thread For The Cure, this event also wants to bring new business to the town and to celebrate “all things Waco.”

The day kicks off at the Common Grounds Coffee Shop at 10 a.m. with a discussion on How I Design by esteemed textile designer, Sina Pearson. Waco Tours to the Shotgun House, Gorman House, German Schmear House and Castle Heights neighborhood will give homage to the design movement in Waco.

Designers can visit any of the local retailers, all within walking distance, and shop for unique, handcrafted and antique items, including products that are featured on the house tours. In addition to these activities, The Backyard Bar and Grill (located close to the Shotgun House and Magnolia Market) will host an afternoon Block Party running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Here designers can have lunch, enjoy music, participate in a leisurely yard game, catch up on emails or simply chat with friends. Sina Pearson and other local celebrities (homeowners) will be dropping in to share their experiences in this movement.

The event also includes an educational component, as buses transporting designers from both Dallas and Austin will feature presentations during the trip to allow designers to earn continuing education units (CEU). Unifi Inc. will also be on site to discuss the evolution of recycled fibers and their place in today’s commercial marketplace.

Event tickets are available now at www.shopdinedesign.com for $125 per person. Capacity is limited, so tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sponsors of Shop.Dine.Design. include furniture manufacturers and textile companies as well as companies that support the industry. Opportunities for sponsorship of the Shop.Dine.Design event are still available.

The current sponsorship list includes: SitOnIt/Ideon, Versteel, Crypton, Dauphin, Momentum, St.Timothy, Corporate Source, Vintage Stone, CCF, Moore Co., Mayer Fabrics, Unifi Inc., VPS Photography, Crossville Tile, Kimball, Trinity Furniture, EKO, Segis, Entos, Cedar Creek Millwork & Design, Arcadia, Encore Furniture, Interior Resources and Innovative. A special thank you to the designers from Gensler, Staffelbach, Entos, GFF and Interior Architects for their time and talent spent to make this event successful, and to Waco Tours for making this event possible.
