ROCK HILL, S.C. – The SDL Atlas UWT (Universal Wear Tester) has been selected as the instrument of choice for performing the Hyundai and Kia automotive interiors tests.
Hyundai and Kia have specified the UWT, also known as a Stoll Quartermaster, for their interior abrasion and soiling standards.
Hyundai and Kia standard MS 200-20 is used to perform the abrasion test to check the durability of interior fabrics to daily wear. Standard MS 200-11 is used for their soiling test. In this test, a pre-soiled fabric is rubbed against the sample and the sample checked for staining afterwards.
Both standards utilize the inflated diaphragm attachment, which comes standard with the SDL Atlas UWT. The different test materials required by the standards are also available from SDL Atlas.
