LINCOLN, R.I. – Palmetto Synthetics LLC, based in Kingstree, S.C., has entered into an agreement to sell its Treleoni LLC business to ACS Industries, Inc., based here.

Treleoni, based in Manning, S.C., is a leading manufacturer of nonwoven floor pads and hand pads to the jan/san industry serving domestic and international customers.

ACS Industries manufactures cleaning products for the food service and janitorial supply markets.

The acquisition is a result of ACS’ continuing plan to expand its janitorial supply business with floor pads. This strategic transaction, combined with its acquisition of pad maker ETC of Henderson, Inc., of Henderson, N.C., in June, positions ACS as a market leader with now three unique floor pad brands.

ACS will continue to operate the Treleoni plant in Manning while looking to capitalize on more volume running through its state-of-the-art production lines. In addition, ACS will set up a distribution warehouse in the facility. ACS said it plans to hire all Treleoni employees.

ACS is a 78-year-old family business with third- and fourth-generation management. In addition to its Cleaning Products Division, its Automotive Division is a world leader in filters for pyrotechnic airbag inflators and specialized knitted wire mesh exhaust components.
