Keynoter Weihenmayer will inspire you

IFAI will once again feature a prominent keynote speaker as part of the IFAI Expo conference.

Erik Weihenmayer, a blind adventurer who has climbed Mt. Everest and kayaked the Grand Canyon, will deliver his unique story and powerful message on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 9 a.m. Weihenmayer is one of the most inspiring, engaging and sought-after speakers anywhere, sharing the speaking platform with prominent figures from around the world. He has spoken everywhere from Hong Kong to Switzerland, and from Thailand to the 2005 APEC Summit in Chile.

The IFAI Expo presentation will be open to all show participants.

Weihenmayer will take the Expo audience on a journey to discover the tools and insights to develop what he calls the “No Barriers Mindset,” what it takes for individuals, teams and organizations to turn into the storm, convert challenges into greatness and reach for nearly impossible goals.

“I think this is the best time in history, the most precious time in history, to be a pioneer, to reach out, to seize hold of adversity and challenges we face, to harness energy not only to transform our own lives, but to elevate the world around us,” Erik Weihenmayer said.

Changes for exhibitors

IFAI organizers said they have spent a number of months strategizing with members on how to improve the overall IFAI Expo experience. It said it has identified several ways to enhance the value for exhibitors and improve their return on investment. Some of the changes include:

  • Show hours will be free of competition from classroom education;

  • New Advanced Textiles and Shade & Weather Protection areas attract additional attendees, benefitting all exhibitors;

  • Several hands-on demonstration areas on the show floor to keep attendees excited and engaged throughout the hall;

  • An aggressive and broader marketing plan, including Southern California and surrounding areas, to increase local traffic;

  • The 2016 on-site booth selection process for Charlotte, N.C. will be completely revamped and feature real-time show floor map updates. This will save time away from booths and will clearly display available booth locations; and
