VALDESE, N.C. – Steve Lindsay is retiring after 30 years of service to Valdese Weavers, the company announced.

Lindsay joined the company in 1987 as a sales representative in the Southeast. Over the years, he also worked with key accounts across North America, and most recently served as company liaison to residential furniture retailers across the country.

“Steve Lindsay has made a lasting impact on Valdese Weavers, the domestic textile and furniture industries, and on me personally as a peer and friend,” said Mike Shelton, Valdese Weavers president and CEO. “We both started our careers elsewhere, but joined one another on the sales team at Valdese Weavers. We were fortunate enough, with the assistance of countless associates in the company, to help create the opportunity for explosive growth over the years that has helped make Valdese Weavers the largest mill of its kind in the industry.

“Steve has developed many close relationships throughout the industry, and within our company, and has truly influenced all,” Shelton added. “In addition, Steve and his wife Betsy have given us their son Blake, who is a key member of our current Valdese Weavers Southeast sales team. On behalf of everyone at Valdese Weavers, I want to thank Steve for his many contributions to our success, and wish him and Betsy all the best for wherever their path may lead.”
