Matt LeBretton, vice president of Public Affairs for New Balance Athletic Shoes, Inc., will keynote the fall conference of the the Synthetic Yarn and Fiber Association (SYFA).
The event is slated for October 2-3 at the Sheraton Airport Hotel in Charlotte, N.C.

Keynote speaker
LeBretton is responsible for the strategic vision, industry collaboration and partnerships, and global communication for government affairs, community relations and public policy initiatives.
He will discuss how Boston, Mass.-based New Balance bucked trends to become a global industry leader in athletic footwear by staying committed to making shoes in America. Matt will speak about recent changes in the Berry Amendment regarding athletic footwear for the military, and New Balance's business outlook regarding the TPP Agreement, speed to market, Made in the USA and direct to consumer.
LeBretton has worked in the Massachusetts legislature, the U.S. Congress, the Office of the Governor and for numerous campaigns and political organizations. Prior to joining New Balance Matt advised numerous companies, candidates and senior leaders on public affairs. He serves on the board of the Sports and Fitness Industry Association, the Board of Directors of the New England Council, the Business Advisory Board of the Outdoor Industry Association, the Board of the Rubber and Plastic Footwear Manufacturers Association and was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the Industry Trade Advisory Committee to the United States Government.
