RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Students are invited to showcase their merchandising and marketing talents to win cash and recognition by participating in the 2018 Concept 2 Consumer® Student Merchandising Competition.

 

Students will showcase their skills in business, marketing and merchandising by conducting a business model, determining a marketing strategy and developing merchandising tools and products for an integrated new apparel line focused on and inspired by a specific outdoor or indoor athletic activity (cycling, running, group fitness, hiking, etc.).

 

The new line must transition from activity to everyday wear; and incorporate a use case and supply chain of a realistic technology (e-textiles, chemical technologies, materials technologies, etc).

 

  • 1st place earns $1,000 from AATCC and US$350 from Cotton Incorporated;

  • 2nd place earns $750 from AATCC and US$100 from Cotton Incorporated; and

  • 3rd place earns $250 from AATCC, US$50 from Cotton Incorporated

 

In addition to the prizes above, there is an optional award sponsored by Cotton Incorporated that earns $500 for entries that choose to incorporate 75 percent or more of cotton in their apparel line.

 

Entries are due April 24, 2018. Competition guidelines are available on the AATCC website.  

 

Winners will be announced by May 31, 2018.
