GASTONIA, N.C. – Textile industry Andy Long has joined Parkdale as vice president of Sales & Marketing for SpunLab Performance Yarn, effective August 9, Dan Nation, president of Parkdale International and SpunLab, announced.

SpunLab is Parkdale’s specialty yarn division, which is its fashion-oriented, more technical-oriented yarn business.

“We’re excited to bring Andy aboard,” Nation said. “He has a lot of good experience, he’s well respected in the industry and he brings a lot to the table for us.”

Long joins the largest yarn spinning company in the U.S. from Cap Yarns in Mt. Pleasant, N.C., where he held a similar position. Previously, he served in that capacity with Tuscarora Yarns, which was purchased and became Cap Yarns several months ago.

Long graduated from N.C. State in 1985 and joined Duran Textiles. In 1998, he and five other investors formed Four Leaf Textiles in Clover, S.C. He remained with the company when it was purchased by CloverTex and later by Tuscarora Yarns.

“I‘m excited to have the opportunity to work for the industry leader in its field,” Long said.
