GREENVILLE, S.C. – Picanol of America announced it has appointed Tom Johnston as sales manager, effective immediately.

Johnston, who has wide international experience in the textile sector, will be responsible for the sales of Picanol weaving machines in the United States.

He graduated from Clemson University in 1987 and worked at the Milliken’s Judson Plant for two years. He later spent 18 years at Parkdale Mills, including 14 years as the plant manager. He later developed a solid track record in the sales of weaving machines for other firms, with a strong focus on technical textiles, according to Picanol.

Johnston’s hiring confirms Picanol’s long-term commitment to the U.S., Picanol said. Picanol of America said is further expanding its technical team to further support its U.S. customers.
