GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – X-Rite Incorporated, a global leader in color science and technology, and its subsidiary Pantone LLC, announced a fall Fundamentals of Color Training Series in 14 locations throughout North America.

The seminar series is designed to help attendees understand color theory and implement color quality standards in their organizations. Topics covered in the trainings include visual evaluations, communicating color specifications, color tolerances and instrumentation.

Taught by X-Rite color experts, the seminar incorporates decades of color management experience and has been conducted globally for more than 25 years. This interactive seminar is ideal for color specifiers, quality control professionals, lab technicians and anyone who evaluates or approves color.

Attendees can register for either the two-day seminar or one of the individual sessions:

  • Day One: Fundamentals of Color and Appearance (FOCA) training provides a solid understanding of the art and science of color, covering the physics of color, importance of lighting, how to use spectrophotometers and color data.

  • Day Two: Fundamentals of Instrumentation and Quality Control (FIQC) is a hands-on workshop where attendees use X-Rite spectrophotometers, light booths and software to create color standards, develop appropriate color tolerances, measure samples against target colors and analyze the results.

“Getting color right continues to be a top concern for quality control professionals across multiple industries and is a leading reason for product rejects,” said Murphy Keeley, vice president of Marketing and Services, X-Rite. “The Fundamentals of Color training brings all of the complicated scientific terms and color management processes into everyday language to help attendees better understand why color errors happen and how to address them. Our trainers provide practical information and advice on how to improve quality control processes by streamlining color communication, measurement, reporting and recording.”

The seminar series commences on August 24th in Seattle, Wash. Other locations include Baltimore, Md.; Green Bay Wis.; Charlotte, N.C.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Los Angeles, Calif.; Birmingham, Ala.; San Jose, Calif.; Toronto, Ont.; Memphis, Tenn.; Providence R.I.; Chicago, Ill.; Cleveland, Ohio; and New York City.
