RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Today’s conscientious consumers are looking for “value-added” performance from their apparel and textile product purchases. They value products that reduce or eliminate the growth of bacterial and control odor.

As such, the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) will conduct a conference entitled Antibacterial & Odor Control: Marketing and Technology Advancements on September 16-17 at the DoubleTree Hotel here.

Program sessions will address current market trends, what consumers value in product/performance enhancements, antimicrobial chemistry routes including inherent fiber and topical treatment technologies, anti-odor chemistries, current test methods as well as what’s on the horizon, and regulatory issues.

Confirmed presentations include:

  • Anti-Stink, Antimicrobial: A Retailer’s Perspective – Yogendra Dandapure and Christophe Bocquet, Lululemon;

  • The Art of Odor Control – Angela Newnam, Angle Enterprises LLC;

  • Antimicrobial Textiles in the Military – Steve Arcidiacono, U.S. Army Natick RD&E Center;
