WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO) announced it is closing its Gastonia, N.C., office in December in order to streamline activities by shifting these responsibilities to its office here.

All duties except finance and administration will be moved to the Washington office, NCTO said. Robin Haynes will continue these activities from a new North Carolina location.

NCTO Vice President Mike Hubbard has decided not to relocate his family to Washington and will be departing the staff at the end of the summer, NCTO said.

“We have been extremely fortunate to have Mike as part of NCTO since its inception,” NCTO said in a statement. “He will be deeply missed by NCTO staff and members.”

Hubbard has worked on textile policy issues since 2000. Prior to his work with the textile industry, he held staff positions on Capitol Hill and in the South Carolina State Senate. He joined the American Yarn Spinner Association in 2000 and came to NCTO when the organization was formed in 2004.

His work has focused on trade, particularly trade agreements with Central America and the Andean countries and he currently serves as NCTO’s representative on the federal Industry Trade Advisory Committee (ITAC).
