DUNCAN, S.C. – Stäubli welcomed more than 300 visitors to its Stäubli Group Tech Days open house event at its North American headquarters here June 26-27.
Stäubli, based in Pfäffikon, Switzerland, is a mechatronics solutions provider with three divisions: Textile, Connectors and Robotics. Each division showcased its latest innovations during the two days, and several workshops and presentations took place.
“Stäubli continues to raise the bar in every division, from our innovative textile machinery to our robust line of connectors as well as our high-quality robot solutions,” Ludovic Pitrois, North American Textile Division manager, told eTC. “We appreciate the opportunity to hold the Tech Days open house for our present and potential customers as well as the technically focused presentations to enable them to learn a little more about the versatility of Stäubli.”
Stäubli’s core textile competencies are in the areas of shed formation (dobbies, cam motions and Jacquard machines) and weaving preparation (warp drawing-in and tying machines).
Stäubli, which has manufactured textile machinery since 1892, had on display in the textile area:
-
the Unival 100 Jacquard weaving machine for sophisticated fabrics; and
-
the 1681 Cam Motion machine for all woven fabrics and basic weaves.
In addition, it showed a lightweight Kevlar car door as an example of new textile innovations created with Stäubli technology.
A big hit at the open house were nearly a dozen robots in action, including the TP80 high-speed picker that achieves more than 200 “picks” per minute.
In the connectors area, Stäubli showed a wide range of products covering all industrial applications. A leading manufacturer of quick connector systems, Stäubli covers connector needs for all types of fluids, gases and electrical power.
Stäubli employs more than 200 people here supporting customers in each division, with a sales force strategically located on the West Coast, Canada, Mexico and elsewhere throughout the continent.
