FLORENCE, Ala. – PerformanceScrubs.com, a Nashville, Tenn.-based performance healthcare products company, announced it is moving its Cullman, Ala., facility to a new high-tech clothing manufacturing facility here.

Employees at the Cullman manufacturing plant will be offered positions at the new facility, which will open in July, according to reports. News outlets also reported that PerformanceScrubs.com will employee 50 to 60 employees by the end of the year and will eventually employ 65 people on each of three shifts.

Encouraged by the global explosion of on-demand manufacturing and mass customization in other industries, the new factory automates and integrates order entry through delivery, the company said. Through proprietary workflows, Performance said it can manufacture millions of unique garments in any quantity on demand while reducing inventory costs and streamlining the supply chain. The factory model has unlimited potential in the types of garments it can manufacture, the firm added.

“We've spent years planning and designing our comprehensive system that has the potential to revolutionize how clothing is made," said J. Kirby Best, CEO of PerformanceScrubs.com. "The rich history of garment manufacturing in Florence/Muscle Shoals makes this the ideal location to launch a state-of-the-art facility. The overwhelming warm welcome by so many makes it feel like home. We are delighted to be here.”

Its parent company, Performance HealthCare Products, Inc. specializes in designing, manufacturing and distributing technologically advanced healthcare scrubs/uniforms and sleepwear created to provide both comfort and function. The company said it uses only American-made materials in their products.
