RALEIGH, N.C. – SPESA, the Sewn Products Equipment & Suppliers of the Americas, will host its eighth Advancements in Manufacturing Technologies Conference on June 20 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

The conference, which will take place concurrently with Techtextil North America, will focus on “Understanding the Technology of Things” (ToT) in the manufacturing of sewn products and flexible materials. Understanding ToT will help transform the entire manufacturing process, which will enable higher productivity at lower costs.

The conference is targeted to mid-level and upper-level managers and the program will provide information to manufacturers to help them improve their quality and manufacturing efficiency, while at the same time, reduce the lead-time required for their production.

Only by fully understanding the ToT can manufacturers know when conversions to automation make sense and when remaining with manual systems makes sense.

Understanding the ToT is transforming the product development, spreading/cutting, sewing/assembly, finishing and logistics functions, enabling enabling higher productivity and better quality at lower costs.

Capitalizing on innovation and new technology is critical to business success in the global economy. Many companies, however, are not achieving maximum benefits from their investments in these technologies.
