HANNOVER, Germany and CHICAGO – Even at this early stage, all signs are already pointing to a winning DOMOTEX 2016, scheduled for January 16-19 in Hannover, Germany.

The world’s leading trade fair for carpets and floor coverings is still eight months away, but it’s meeting with a tremendous response on the part of the market, with a full 80 percent of the show’s available space already booked.

“DOMOTEX 2016 will be a strong, international and innovative event. All indicators reveal a very favorable trend,” said Dr. Jochen Köckler, the member of the managing board at Deutsche Messe in charge of DOMOTEX. “The exhibitors are committed to leveraging DOMOTEX for success in 2016. DOMOTEX plays a pivotal role in the carpet and flooring industry’s annual business calendar, particularly since it’s held at the start of the year.”

Some 1,400 exhibitors from 60 countries will be heading to Hannover to impress the international carpet and floor coverings industry with their products and new

collections. For the upcoming show, one major visitor magnet is already certain: the Wood Flooring Summit. Staged successfully in 2012 and 2014, this flagship dialogue hub and marketplace for the parquet and laminate flooring industry is entering its third season. One key difference next year is that it will run alongside the Innovations@DOMOTEX showcase in Hall 9, thus commanding even greater attention.

Organizers are expecting a lineup of around 200 exhibitors from the parquet and laminate flooring industry, plus more than 180 providers of application and installation technology.

“The 2016 Wood Flooring Summit will feature all the market leaders and cover all the sector’s key product groups: parquet and laminate floor coverings and outdoor flooring,” Köckler said.

Top innovations will be highlighted in a special, elaborately designed area. There will also be a refreshment and lounge area for networking and business talks.

Innovations@DOMOTEX

2016 will also see a new edition of Innovations@DOMOTEX – a well-received showcase that gives exhibitors the chance to gain added exposure for their latest and greatest products in a prime setting, thus enabling them to truly stand out from the competition.

Innovations@DOMOTEX boosts the success of participating exhibitors by means of a printed guide that profiles the selected exhibitors in the run-up to the show, dedicated areas in halls 6, 9 and 17 (each with its own unique design) and a daily program of free guided tours that give architects and interior designers valuable insight into top highlights and take them right to the stands of featured exhibitors.

Submission deadline extended to November 3

The latest survey indicated that 95 percent of DOMOTEX visitors are in favor of Innovations@DOMOTEX being continued. They are embracing this winning format because it gives them an excellent point of departure as they navigate the show in search of displays of relevance to them.

“For exhibitors, this translates into large numbers of well-informed, genuinely interested visitors and qualified leads,” said Köckler. “And this is reason enough to enhance the showcase further still for DOMOTEX 2016.”

Participation in Innovations@DOMOTEX is free of charge for DOMOTEX exhibitors. In response to exhibitor requests, the submission deadline for product proposals has been extended to November 3, 2015.

European interior decorating competition

DOMOTEX 2016 will also be hosting the fifth European Competition for the Interior Furnishing Trades. Next year’s competition is dedicated to exploring Eastern influences on the Western way of life and interior design.

“These days, we’re increasingly looking for ways of slowing down the pace of life with things like meditation, and so we naturally want our homes to be oases of positive energy, harmony and calmness,” said Norbert Berndt, president of the European Association for Interior Furnishing (EuroInterior), which is organizing the competition.

The 2016 competition will focus on four main themes: DAO (Harmony with Nature), ZEN (Zen Gardens), YIN and YANG (Opposites in Harmony) and YAKU (Meditative Tea Ceremony). The best interior furnishers and decorators from Switzerland, Germany, Austria and South Tyrol (Italy) will have the opportunity to design and implement two spaces each for each of the four themes, thus demonstrating their craftsmanship and creative genius to the world. The European Competition for the Interior Furnishing Trades is held at DOMOTEX every two years.
