MOCKSVILLE, N.C. – Nonwovens producer Avgol plans to expand its production facility here and add 50 jobs, according to reports.
The Israel-based company intends to increase manufacturing and distribution space by 100,000 square feet. The plant is currently 280,000 square feet.
Avgol’s overseas plants in China, Russia and Israel were also in the running for the expansion, according to reports. But the company chose to expand the Mocksville plant after Davie County commissioners approved an incentives package of almost $800,000 for the company, which will spend $8 million for the expansion.
Currently, about 220 people work at the plant, and the company plans to hold a job fair during the summer for the additional hires.
