The Southern Textile Association’s (STA’s) 108th Annual Meeting and the Fiber Buyers Joint Meeting will take place June 19-21 at the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes, Myrtle Beach, S.C.

 

The first general session, under the theme “Manufacturing … Uniquely American,” speakers include:

 

  • Joe Nicosia, senior head, Cotton and Merchandising Platforms, Allenberg Cotton/Louis Dreyfus, who will cover “U.S. World Cotton Supply/Demand;”

  • John Bassett, chairman, Vaughan-Bassett Furniture, who will discuss “Making It In America;” and

  •  Dr. Henry Hobbs, region manager, South, Georgia Tech, who will go over “Bridging the Generational Divide.”

 

Under the theme “2016: Unconventional Campaigns, Unconventional Conventions,” the second general session will welcome these presenters:

 

  • Auggie Tantillo, president & CEO, National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO), who will speak on trade agreements and the industry’s rebranding campaign, American Textiles: We Make Amazing;”

  • Mike Collins, author and president of The Perfect Workday Company, Inc., who will present “Industry Challenges Past, Present and Future;” and

  • Rob Chapman III, chairman, CEO and treasure, Inman Mills.

 

Beyond business, the event will offer a number of activities and networking opportunities with more than 200 industry mill and supplier representatives.

 

The Joint Fiber Buyers meeting is organized by the NCTO, the STA, the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance (SCMA) and the Georgia Association of Manufacturers (GAM).
