AUTEFA Solutions
The sales teams of AUTEFA Solutions combines experts of the former companies Fehrer, F.O.R, AUTEFA and Strahm. The IDEA16 show is the perfect place to present the economic and technical advantages of AUTEFA Solutions as a full line supplier for needlepunch nonwoven lines.
AUTEFA Solutions needlepunch lines meet customers’ requirements for quality web formation, bonding, active weight regulation and minimal maintenance requirements. AUTEFA Solutions delivers turnkey nonwoven lines including opening and blending, chute feed, carding, crosslapping, needlepunching, drafting, and winding.
With AUTEFA Solutions complete line performance equipment the company offers a solution for every customer.
“Customers expect more technological support, a perfect spare part service and a solution for the cumbersome and expensive needle exchange,” said Marco Fano, CEO AUTEFA Solutions. “The performance of the needle loom increases once the needle loom will be not considered as a stand‐alone machine.”
The combination of the crosslapper and a needle machine, monitored by a "closed loop Control," leads to higher fabric quality. In many staple fiber and nonwoven lines, the crosslapper is important for determining quality. Using the crosslapper from the “Topliner” series, combined with the profiling system and the additional WebMAX equipment, prevents the increased weight of the fabric in the edge areas, called the “smile effect.”
This results in an excellent uniformity in the fabric and, thanks to a considerable saving of materials, a lasting reduction in material costs.
DiloGroup
Dilo is a leading equipment supplier of complete lines for staple fiber nonwoven fabric production. The most recent machine concepts from DiloGroup companies DiloTemafa, DiloSpinnbau and DiloMachines will be promoted with the emphasis on new equipment components that improve product quality and increase line capacity.
DiloTemafa has introduced versions of the Baltromix bale opener and the card willow, which are particularly suited to the processing of longer fibers at highest throughput. Longer cleaning intervals and shorter cleaning times also result from the design changes. The DON dosing opener remains as an intermediate between fiber preparation and the card feeder and provides a fine opening stage.
DiloSpinnbau has a new “Unifeed” card feeder that combines the principle of volumetric charged feeding with the characteristics of a chute feeder but without the conventional overhead trunk, which allows for lower ceiling height requirement. The fiber flock matt is condensed by a vacuum delivery apron to give better uniformity of mass distribution. Additional flaps control this over the working width. This feeder can be adapted for medium/fine to coarse and medium to long staple fibers.
The newly developed card “VectorQuadroCard” incorporates a modular transfer group between breast and main section. The quick change facility of this roller group provides different carding options. The delivery system is also flexible to provide parallel laid, random or condensed web. The pre-opener section on this card has 4 worker/stripper pairs with five pairs on the main cylinder.
Emphasis is on high throughput with good web quality DiloMachines has a new DLSC horizontal crosslapper version, which allows electromechanical web infeed speeds up to 200 m/min depending on fiber specification. Such infeed speeds will prevent the lapper being the line bottleneck. This lapper works in conjunction with the proven CV1A web regulation system for improved felt evenness and the potential for fiber savings.
In addition to wide needling lines for the economic production of large volume products as in the geotextile industry, Dilo offers a compact line which is designed for the production of small amounts of high quality felts, used e. g. in the medical sector and for specialty felts made from specialty fibers.
This compact line includes fiber opening and blending, card feeding, carding and crosslapping, needling and winding.

Groz-Beckert
Groz-Beckert will be represented with its product areas felting and carding at IDEA16.
The product area felting will highlight special needle solutions for different applications of the nonwovens industry. As the Groz-Beckert range of products includes needle types with a variety of barb sizes, barb shapes, working part gauges and working part cross-sections, the right needle can be offered for the most different applications.
For example, if a high surface quality is desired, Groz-Beckert GEBECON® and EcoStar® felting needles are recommended. The GEBECON® felting needle, that was among the top three of this year's RISE Durable Product Award, is characterized by an increased stability compared to a conventional standard felting needle and, at the same time, provides a high needle elasticity and produces a good surface quality in the pre-needling process.
The EcoStar® needle, used for intermediate and finish needling, guarantees a high surface quality of the end product. For products that require a particularly high tensile strength, the Twisted needle is the most suitable choice. Its special feature – the twisted working part – ensures a particularly efficient needling. It is used in the production of automotive textiles, geotextiles and other applications.
For the mechanical bonding of nonwovens, among others used for hygiene and medical products, Groz-Beckert offers jet strips in all customary dimensions and nozzle geometries – and made from different materials. At the exhibition, three jet strip version made of different materials will be presented: HyTec® Standard, HyTec® D and HyTec® GEBEDUR®.
The material used for the HyTec® Standard is characterized by an excellent corrosion resistance. The material used for HyTec® D additionally provides an increased stability and protects the jet strip even better. Moreover, its surface quality prevents the accumulation of dirt. The GEBEDUR® version is characterized by a special treatment giving the jet strip a high surface resistance in the area of the capillary edges. This results in a long service life of the HyTec® GEBEDUR® jet strip, with homogeneous product properties.
The product area carding will present carding products and services for the nonwovens industry. The highlights are SiroLock® metallic wires as well as EvoStep® doffer and worker rollers.
Mezger, Inc.
In booth 1118, Mezger, Inc., Spartanburg, S.C., will be displaying two testing instruments by Lenzing Instruments – the Lister AC and SloshBox100.
The SloshBox100 is a new instrument that is used for flushabilty testing and will be shown for the first time.
In addition, the company will show jet strips for spunlace, spinnerets, screens and gaskets for polymer filtration and various blotter papers.
Other items Mezger offers for the nonwoven industry are spinneret inspection systems, burn-off ovens, ultrasonic cleaning systems and filtration systems.
Oerlikon Neumag
Oerlikon Neumag will present an extensive technology portfolio for the production of nonwovens: from spunbond and meltblown to airlaid through to staple fibers for the production of carded nonwovens. Areas of application include technical, such as filtration, roofing, geotextiles and automotive, in addition to medical and hygiene applications.
Cost reductions of up to 30 percent for spunbond production
The proportion of nonwovens manufactured directly from polymer granulate now amounts to almost 50% of the total market, and its share is continuing to grow. The trend is towards lighter surface weights that despite everything still meet the high quality standards. Benchmark comparisons with current products in Europe show that with the spunbond technology of Oerlikon Neumag, the required qualities are achieved with reduced surface weights. This results in raw material savings of over 5%.
Furthermore, the machine builder from Neumünster has optimized the energy consumption of its systems. The new generation of systems saves almost 20% of the energy requirement in spinning alone. Together with the raw material savings and further technology optimizations, the conversion costs are up to 30% below those of the spunbond systems producing today.
Meltblown technology for even higher qualities
The optimized meltblown technology defines new requirements for the production of filter nonwovens. Whether as stand-alone mono and bicomponent systems, or as Plug & Produce components in existing systems, the Oerlikon Neumag meltblown process today enables cost-efficient manufacture of meltblown nonwovens with the quality standards of tomorrow.
Airlaid technology for extremely thin nonwovens
Production of high-quality, light airlaid nonwovens with economically attractive production speeds and system throughputs is nowadays in demand. In this area, the forming head of the Oerlikon Neumag airlaid technology with a high uniformity and homogenous fiber placement, even with extremely thin nonwovens, is setting standards.
Fiber production for carded nonwovens
For manufacturers of carded nonwovens, who in future would like to produce their fibers in-house, Oerlikon Neumag offers a comprehensive technology portfolio. The economically viable system capacities for special mono and bico fibers made of PP, PET and other polymers start at 5 t per day.
