Albaad Corp. of Israel has invested in a production line for wetlaid and spunlaced nonwovens with Trützschler Nonwovens & Man-Made Fibers GmbH and Voith Paper GmbH & Co. KG, both of Germany.

Albaad, a producer of nonwovens and nonwoven products, made the announcement after a three-year development project, which was driven by the increasing demand for environmental friendly products. Albaad developed a technology for flushable fabrics that meets the EDANA/INDA definitions for flushability, the company said.

Both the HydroFormer, Voith Paper’s wet laying machine, and the AquaJet, Trützschler Nonwovens’ spunlacing unit, are highly productive and offer efficient solutions, Albaad said. Also, Trützschler’s Streamliner drying system makes its entry into a wet-in-wet production line and further reduces production costs, Albaad added.

The line will be established in Dimona, Israel, and will start operating next year. A wide variety of flushable nonwovens will enable customization for customers with changing market demands.

Albaad, founded in 1986, is one of the world’s leading hygiene products manufacturer with about 1,700 employees in seven sites in Israel, the U.S., Germany and Poland.
