The IPC D-70 E-Textiles Committee has created the IPC D-70 COVID-19 Response Community, enabling the e-textiles community to come together online and through weekly Zoom meetings to help one another to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
These activities are open to anyone to participate – including those from the general textiles community – so share this news with colleagues.
The overall objectives of the IPC D-70 COVID-19 Response Community include:
-
Galvanize resources of members to respond to urgent needs due to the COVID-19 crisis, particularly the need for personal protection equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers and first responders;
-
Provide an opportunity to keep in touch with other committee members and maintain continuity as we respond to the pandemic;
-
Support and share networks, so people can connect with others to find necessary resources.
-
Create a hub for sharing regulatory guidelines for PPE, resource materials (e.g., nonwoven filter), finding factories and available equipment, paying workers now or reimbursing later, among other topics.
IPC Works online Collaboration Community
IPC has created a page on the IPC Works committee collaboration website for the e-textiles community to engage and collaborate using the site’s social media features. To be added to this community, email your full contact details to ChrisJorgensen@ipc.org.
Free Zoom meetings
IPC will provide weekly Zoom meetings during this crisis to allow the e-textiles community to engage about these issues. Meetings are open to all and there is no cost to participate. The first meeting took place April 2.
As topics warrant specific attention, small teams can be assigned to respond back to the community.
In addition to creating an online community for the e-textiles industry to respond to COVID-19, IPC offers the COVID-19 Update, which will provide ongoing details about the status of events, training and certification, and industry and advocacy updates.
As a result of the pressures the COVID-19 pandemic is putting on the e-textiles community, IPC has also extended the call for participation for IPC E-Textiles 2020 to June 1, 2020. IPC E-Textiles 2020 will take place September 29-30 in Minneapolis.
