More than 100 S.C. sites recognized for safety

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A number of textile companies and their suppliers were among 105 plant sites throughout South Carolina that were recognized by the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance for outstanding workplace safety accomplishments during 2013.

Textile companies earning recognition included Glen Raven Custom Fabrics LLC, DAK Americas, Greenwood Mills, Hamrick Mills, Highland Industries, Inman Mills, INVISTA, Milliken & Co., Mohawk, Sage Automotive Interiors, Springs Creative Product Group and William Barnet & Son and its subsidiary Barnet Polymers.

"To ensure a successful business environment for South Carolina manufacturers, it is essential that we also ensure a safe working environment for our associates," said Scott Coleman, SCMA Plant Safety Conference chairman and HR manager for Sage Automotive Interiors. "We are proud to recognize the achievements of so many manufacturing facilities for meeting and exceeding the standards of this ambitious award. By making the safety and health a top priority, it is evident that manufacturers across the State are committed to providing a safer, more prosperous South Carolina."
