The American Association of Textile Chemists & Colorists (AATCC) will sponsor two webinars in April.

 

Filtration by Fibrous Materials

 

Filtration by Fibrous Materials will be addressed April 23 at 11 a.m. ET by Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar, professor of Technical Textiles at Texas Tech University.

 

This webinar will cover the basic principles behind filtration and types of filtration such as air and liquid. Recent advances in the field of filtration using nano, sub-micron and microfilters will be discussed as well as commonly used testing methods and instrumentation.

 

Ramkumar directs the Nonwoven and Advanced Materials Laboratory at Texas Tech and his research focuses on developing value-added materials using nonwoven and nanotechnology. Following the presentation participants will have an opportunity to have their questions addressed. Attendance is limited, so register today online.

 

UV Protective Clothing – Best Practices

 

On April 30 at 11 a.m. ET, Louann Spirito of SGS Consumer Testing Services will present UV Protective Clothing – Best Practices.

 

This webinar will provide a general background on UPF, what it is and why its importance is increasing globally. Spirito will review test methods used to determine UPF value, as well as sample preparation and labeling; factors affecting UPF performance; industry best practices; and performance claims.

 

Louann Spirito is director of Technical Support, Softlines at SGS Consumer Testing Services, where she develops testing programs, performance specifications and provides regulatory testing guidance to global U.S. clients.
