Swizerland-based SSM Schärer Schweiter Mettler AG announced that Ernesto Maurer is stepping down from his operational business functions as CEO and will become the company’s chairman.

 

His successor will be Dr. Davide Maccabruni, currently the head of R&D and managing director of SSM GIUDICI. Maccabruni has been with SSM for the last 10 years and has strongly contributed to the development of the company, SSM said.

 

SSM said the moves ensure continuity in management of this manufacturer of textile machinery.

 

Its Horgen brand drives the global market in winding technologies, the company said. SSM is a leading manufacturer of winding and texturing machines as well as sewing thread finish winders. SSM also provides electronic yarn guide systems. In addition to its headquarters in Switzerland, SSM operates two subsidiaries, one in Northern Italy and one Southern China.
