PARIS – The leading annual composites show in the World, JEC World, will be staged in two Halls of Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center for three days of networking and knowledge sharing among composites professionals and new users.

Attendees from more than 100 countries will participate in the event, set for March 14-16.

“Innovation is at the center of the show,” said Frédérique Nutel, JEC Group president & CEO. “Incremental or disruptive innovation in composites makes the success of JEC World. The new paradigms of our century are lightness, resistance, flexibility, customization and cycles acceleration. Composites meet this quest. During the last 12 months, we have worked hard to analyze end-users’ requirements. We have shaped the show to facilitate the interaction between the composites industry and the final market. New populations such as architects, creators, developers, designers and style engineers, should join. Consequently, we expect a significant growth for JEC World 2017.”

Four ‘Planets’ to showcase composites innovation

Following the success of the « Planets » that appeared last year at the show, JEC World is bringing them back in even bigger areas with brand new parts and new end-user focuses. Thus, attendees will find again the AERO Planet (sponsored by Huntsman) and the AUTO Planet (sponsored by Hexion, KDX and UBC-Crosslink), and discover two new Planets i.e. the BUILDING Planet and the BETTER LIVING Planet that will include composites parts that are and will improve people’s everyday life.

Automotive Composites Circle

The exclusive gathering of top-level producers, manufacturers and users of composites in the automotive industry will take place on the second day of the show. The by-invitation-only presentations and networking session will highlight the topic “The collaborative process in the automotive Industry, learning experience from the State of Michigan.”

Renowned speakers from The Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Faurecia, Ford Research & Innovation Center, IACMI, Leichtbau Continental Structural Plastics and Bcomp will take the stage to exchange a few ideas. Also, Leilani Münter, Electric GT Pilot, will give a presentation.

The Automotive Composites Circle is sponsored by The Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Pure Michigan.

Latest trends at six conferences

During the three days of the event, six conferences involving 53 speakers from around the world will provide the most updated content the composites Industry could reveal. Three of them will be dedicated to end-using markets:

  • Aeronautics: Multiscale Modeling for Behavioral Predictions

  • Current Trends in the Automotive Industry

  • Composites as a Worthy Alternative to Traditional Materials in the Construction Industry

The conferences are sponsored by Altair.

“We are very confident with JEC World 2017 session as the show floor has been fully booked for weeks and registration figures are increasing compared to 2016, which was already an exceptional session,” said Anne Manuèle Hebert, JEC World show director. “There are so many events not be missed during JEC World such as the new STARTUP BOOSTER program on Day 1, the JEC Innovation Awards Ceremony on Day 2 with keynote speaker Thomas COVILLE, new solo round-the-world record on maxi trimaran and many other special events. Three days will be hardly enough to cover JEC World 2017 and its very complete offer.”
