WAKAYAMA, Japan – Leading computerized knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki Mfg., Ltd. recently participated in trade fairs in Spain, Russia and Bangladesh and this week is exhibiting in Shanghai.

The company, well known for its WHOLEGARMENT knitting machines, showed its equipment at Best Solutions in Textile Manufacturing Fair (BSTIM) in Igualada, Spain; Textillegprom 48th Federal Trade Fair for Apparel and Textile in Moscow; and the Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG 2017) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

This week, together with its Hong Kong subsidiary Shima Seiki (Hong Kong) Ltd., is on hand in the 29th Session of SPIN EXPO in Shanghai

Shima Seiki is showing the latest version of its “SDS-ONE APEX3” 3D design system. APEX3 is at the core of SHIMA SEIKI’s “Total Fashion System” concept, made possible through its comprehensive support of the knit apparel production process from planning and production to sales promotion.

Furthermore its capability for Virtual Sampling is especially effective in streamlining the production process. Ultra-realistic simulation capability allows the use of Virtual Samples for evaluating design variations without producing actual samples for each variation, thereby minimizing the time, cost and resources normally required with sample making.

APEX3 also supports design and simulation in a variety of other industries such as circular knitting, weaving, pile weaving and printing.

Also on display are the latest collection of knit samples, including WHOLEGARMENT® knitwear that is knit in its entirety on the machine without the need for linking or sewing afterward. Without seams, WHOLEGARMENT® knitwear features superior fit, comfort and draping characteristics.
