COLUMBIA, S.C. – Oxco, Inc., a light manufacturer and supplier of nonwoven materials, is launching new operations in York County, S.C., to accommodate the company's continued growth, the S.C. Dept. of Commerce announced.
The project is expected to bring approximately $13 million in new capital investment and create more than 130 new jobs.
Established in Charlotte, N.C. in 1994, Oxco operates within the nonwoven industrial fabrics industry and is a light manufacturer and supplier of nonwoven materials for a variety of markets and end-use applications.
Located in Lakemont Business Park in Fort Mill, S.C., the company will be constructing a new 150,000-square-foot facility, expandable up to 200,000 square feet. Hiring for the new positions is projected to begin in the second quarter of 2018.
"Given our company's success and growth in recent years, and therefore our need for a larger facility, we're delighted to be planning for a move to York County,” said Oxco President C.T. Chu. “The attractive incentives offered by the county and state, and the convenient location with access to Interstate 77 for our employees, distributors and customers alike, made the move an easy decision."
The Coordinating Council has approved job development credits, as well as a $200,000 Set Aside grant to York County to assist with the cost of real property improvements related to the project.
