COLUMBIA, S.C. – Ascend Performance Materials, a global provider of high-quality fibers, chemicals and plastics, is expanding its Greenwood, S.C., operations, the S.C. Dept. of Commerce announced.

 

To accommodate its continued growth, the company is projected to invest $3.8 million and create 20 new jobs.

 

"Expanding polymer production lines at our Greenwood facility is good for South Carolina and good for Ascend,” said Ascend Performance Materials Greenwood Site Director Hal McCord. “It allows us to take advantage of the expertise we've built for decades to deliver the best quality and service to our customers."

With five manufacturing plants in the southeastern United States and more than 3,200 employees around the world, Ascend manufactures a variety of compounds, including fibers, intermediate chemicals, resins and more. The company supplies a wide range of industries and applications.
