Elliott, who led textile rep Ford, Elliott & Trimble, dies

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Ed Elliott, a former principle at textile machinery representative Ford, Elliott & Trimble, died Friday, January 16, 2015. He was 85.

 

Elliott was well known in the textile business. He enjoyed business relations and served clients in the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, the U.K. and other parts of Europe. He was a member of the of the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) and a fellow of The Society of Dyers and Colourists.

 

Elliott served in the Korean Conflict as a cryptographer and member of the U.S. Army Signal Corps stationed in Nome, Alaska and trained at the Army ASA unit in Vint Hill Farms Station, Va. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he obtained a degree in chemical engineering from Clemson University in 1958. He worked for FMC Corporation in Princeton, N.J., Buffalo, N.Y., and New York City before moving to Charlotte in 1963.
