COLUMBIA, S.C. – USFibers, a manufacturer of recycled polyester fiber, announced plans to expand its current operations in Trenton, S.C., the South Carolina Dept. of Commerce reported.
The company intends to create more than 20 jobs to accommodate its continued growth and expand its product offerings.
With South Carolina locations in Trenton and Laurens, USFibers offers a wide variety of polyester staple fiber products, serving various market segments, including automotive, home furnishings, filtration and geotextiles. The company's products support several end uses, including polyester's continued growth in non-woven applications.
"This latest investment demonstrates our continued commitment to the fiber industry,” said USFibers president and founder Edward Oh. “We are excited about the opportunities that this new operation affords us and the ability to enter new markets. As we launch this next phase of our evolution at USFibers, we want to thank our employees, customers and suppliers for their continued support. Without them and their commitment, none of this would be possible."
To meet increased customer demand, USFibers is investing in its Edgefield County facility. Located at 30 Pine House Road in Trenton, the company is expanding its product offerings into specialty markets, providing additional value to its already diverse customer base. In addition to the new jobs, this new capacity will include a significant expansion into research and development capabilities and personnel.
"It's always exciting to see one of our existing businesses succeed and have the ability to expand in our state,” said S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley. “USFibers' decision to invest further in South Carolina and create 20 new jobs in Edgefield County is a real reason to celebrate, and we look forward to seeing this fantastic company continue to grow here for a very long time."
