RALEIGH, N.C. – Textiles today are innovative, lifesaving, creative, global and thriving.
With the wide range of innovative textiles being developed and introduced every day, there is an increased recognition of the importance of textiles as building block materials for new product development, and advanced technologies are redefining new application segments such as life science, information technology, environment and nanotechnology.
Sustainability is also a top concern for manufacturers and fashion brands, and innovation in the entire development and production chain can help reduce environmental impacts and promote sustainable manufacturing.
Textile Summit 2017 aims to bring together the faculty, staff and students at N.C. State University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Shinshu University, the University of Leeds and the University of Manchester to share the latest textile research advances. These five universities have the world’s best textile programs and Textile Summit 2017 provides the opportunities for the participants to discuss the state of the textile industry, new findings in textile fundamentals, innovations in textile and related products, as well as shed light on what is being done to revolutionize the entire textile development and production chain.
Textile Summit 2017 will take place on March 21-22 at the College of Textiles at N.C. State University here.
Participants of Textile Summit 2017 will also attend the Research Day, hosted by the College of Textiles and the Textile Association of Graduate Students at N.C. State University, on March 20.The mission of the Research Day is to share textiles related research with the industry and students, to initiate a dialogue, learn, showcase and establish networks and collaborations with all personnel involved in textiles.
